DJ Fat Tony founded Arrogant Hypocrite in 2020 but he is no stranger to the world of fashion. One of the industries most sought-after DJs, Tony has played for every major house from Dior to Louis Vuitton, from Chopard to Versace. He is also one half of DJ duo Fat Moss alongside legendary supermodel, Kate Moss. Over the years Tony has become a staple moderator for the photography mecca SHOWStudio - where he's joined panels of fashion experts to discuss global Fashion Weeks.
Starting his career 3 decades ago at an age too young to mention Fat Tony has had his say in paving the way for London's current music scene. Early on he won over residencies at the legendary Turnmills for Trade, Ministry Of Sound & Egg to name a few. One of his most iconic residencies was alongside Paul Oakenfold at Heaven in 1991. He quickly made his mark internationally, holding a weekly show in New York at the Palladium for Steve Rubell during the height of Paradise, Limelight and playing with the likes of Sasha and Carl Cox. He’s also graced the main floor of Privilege Ibiza, Space, Amnesia & DC10, alongside Boy George among many other now-musical icons.
Fat Tony was signed to Defected in 2019, as part of his constistent club resurgence. He played at the epic Glitterbox at Hï Ibiza last summer. He is an 'unofficial' resident at Ministry of Sound that has seen him play the world-renowned The Box on the most coveted night of the year... New Year's Eve 2020. Let's hope we get back to clubs sooner rather than later!
Fat Tony is demonstrating yet again why he doesn't feel like he's even reached the pinnacle of his career. One of the most hard-working DJs on the scene, he constantly seeks to innovate and explore new ideas, avenues and outlets for his art and knowledge. Besides Arrogant Hypocrite, 2020 saw one of his most exciting multi-faceted collaborations to date, with the world's leading dance music publication - mixmag.
Tony and mixmag have produced a film exploring his life and career. With the release at the start of January 2020, the film delves into a sides of Tony's experiences that few people have until this point. It has already garnered over 2 million views and the project is just the first phase of the story-telling Tony intends on developing over the near future. You can watch that here
He has also teamed up with mixmag to present mixmag LAB featuring Fat Tony. The incredibly popular LAB live sets have gained quite a reputation and earlier on in the year he produced a show second to none. Watch it here
